Counterargument Builder

Find the objections a skeptic would actually make, then assemble the rebuttal paragraph

Every rubric that mentions critical thinking means one thing: did you argue with yourself before someone else did? The problem is that students are taught to include a counterargument but never taught to find one, so the paragraph that appears is a straw man — 20 percent disagree because they have not read the evidence. This builder works from the six objection angles that cover nearly every academic pushback: definition challenges that contest a key term, causation challenges that attack the arrow between trend and cause, counterexamples that break the claim on one real case, cost objections that grant the point and attack the side effects, alternative explanations that accept every fact and tell a rival story, and scope challenges that concede the claim inside its borders and show it fails outside. Pick the two or three a skeptic would actually take, and each assembles as an objection statement plus a rebuttal slot — with an optional concession for objections that are partly right. An arguability check reads the claim first and flags the absolutes, question forms, and I-think framings that make even good rebuttals irrelevant. Everything fills into [BRACKETED] evidence slots and copies as a plain-text worksheet.
